NEWSLETTER 4, END OF FIRST TERM

From the Head’s Desk

The current circumstances require utmost vigilance, alertness and taking heed of credible information and valuable advice from our medical experts. It is very important that we monitor who is with our children and what they are doing during this seemingly long holiday.

The teaching staff have set some work to keep the children stimulated and engaged during the time they are away from school. Please kindly ensure that the work is accomplished, and more can be requested so feel free to contact the class teachers. We should also be looking at ways of continuing to provide education during these challenging times looking ahead. We envisage a long and extremely busy winter term therefore, let us prepare for it. The date of start for second term will be communicated when announced.

Book Day

This was one of the most successful Local Literary Festival judging from the enthusiasm of every child and the ecstatic parents/guardians. At this point in time, every child at Hillcrest Prep from Grade 1 to Grade 7 CAN READ! Upscaling and enjoying reading was the paramount objective as we celebrate this day GLOBALLY.

Although a few were noted for one aspect or another, every Hillcrest “book worm” literally had a story to “show and tell” about. Hats off to all our staff and Mr. Mauwa (librarian) for a jolly good show!

Enjoy the rest of the newsletter. Stay safe!
